New York, NY —Civic Hall is partnering with Interview Prep NYC, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to helping job seekers develop the confidence and skills needed to excel in job interviews. Through this collaboration, Interview Prep NYC will deliver its specialized interview preparation program to participants enrolled in Civic Hall’s education and workforce training programs, providing critical support to individuals striving to launch or advance their careers in the technology and innovation sector.
Interview Prep NYC was founded on the belief that all job seekers—regardless of background—deserve access to high-quality coaching to help them secure meaningful employment. The organization provides free, personalized mock interviews and constructive feedback sessions led by experienced volunteers, helping job seekers improve their communication skills, boost self-esteem, and become more comfortable navigating the interview process.
Last year, more than 1,050 people enrolled in a digital skills/technology training program by one of Civic Hall’s training providers. By embedding Interview Prep NYC’s programming into Civic Hall’s training pathways, participants will receive not only technical instruction but also the essential soft skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
“Civic Hall’s mission is to provide comprehensive support to underserved individuals pursuing careers in technology and related fields,” said Jim Malatras, Managing Director of Civic Hall. “Through this partnership with Interview Prep NYC, we’re ensuring that our participants in one of our many training programs don’t just gain technical skills—they also gain the confidence and preparation they need to stand out to employers. This is a major benefit for our education and workforce training providers in making sure participants are career ready.”
“We’re excited to bring our volunteers’ expertise to Civic Hall’s students,” said Barry Langer, the founder of Interview Prep NYC. “Our work helps bridge the gap between technical training and successful employment by equipping job seekers with the tools they need to shine in interviews.”
The partnership strengthens Civic Hall’s and Interview Prep NYC’s shared commitment to economic mobility and access to high-quality career preparation for all New Yorkers.
