Civic Hall to Host Building the Clean Energy Future Conference

NEW YORK, NY – Civic Hall – The Bernard Goldstein Center is hosting the Building the Clean Energy Future conference, taking place on April 28, 2025, at the Craig Newmark Auditorium and conference center. The conference will feature key leaders from government, real estate, the tech sector, higher education, and workforce training organizations for an engaging discussion on how New York City can develop a skilled workforce to drive the large-scale retrofitting of buildings for energy efficiency and sustainability. As the city accelerates its transition toward greener infrastructure, innovations in technology will play a crucial role in transforming how buildings are designed, retrofitted, and maintained.

We are grateful to the Heckscher Foundation for Children for generously sponsoring this event and supporting efforts. The conference will feature distinguished speakers and expert panels, including:

Morning Speaker: Kenneth Adams, President of LaGuardia Community College

Panel One: Industry Insights, moderated by Zach Steinberg, SVP of Policy at REBNY with:

     • Lauren Brust Moss, SVP/Chief Sustainability Officer, Vornado Realty Trust

     • Michael Wolfe, President, Wolfe Realty Services

     • Byron Stigge, Director, Level Infrastructure

Panel Two: Meeting the Workforce Demand moderated by Gregory Morris, CEO, NYC Employment and Training Coalition with:  

     • Mike Conway of Stacks and Joules

     • David Meade, Executive Director, Building Skills NY

     • Alex Seki, Associate Director of Green Job Programs, LaGuardia Community College

During the event, recent graduates of Stacks + Joules will showcase their green skills, followed by a networking lunch designed to connect industry leaders with training providers.
